The Kat Wilson Trio is a mash of coastal blues and folk melodies. When singer-songwriter and ginger native Kat Wilson explored a simple and slightly louder sound then normal the trio was created in a Rella Music warehouse. Outside of their normal everyday, a fusion of sounds sitting on the fence between genres and styles was brewed amongst hours spend sitting on council verge pick up furniture and ping pong competitions.
At Real to Reel studio in Bunbury the Trio tracked and finish this debut EP in a crammed 2 and a half days. They wanted a sound that was raw and to force the songs to breath on their own and tell stories without overthinking the recording process under the guidance of legend James Newhouse. In this EP Kat tells stories of affection, growing up as creatives in Perth and the wrestle for change. With great friends and incredible musicians Wooly Mammoth and Rabbits Root joining the line up, this EP launch is sure to be a Good Friday to start your Easter long weekend.
